New activities

After taking part at the first and great winter session of the NSU Study Circle 7 Practicing Communities in Riga, Latvia, I'm in a process of developing the next activities which will furthermore concentrate on the concept and method of Body Mapping. Device for this year

"Doing less also speaks of a specific attitude on the part of the artist worker, who needs to withstand the cretive speculations about his or her life in order to open up the temporal materiality of his or her own work. In this way, the artist's work yields to life, not in the sense of breaking the boundaries between life and artistic activity but always in the sense of placing its activity as the aunonoums difference of a lesser act: it is enabling life trough doing less.

How can body subjectivity be used to create participatory performance works? What happens when we shake off our roles as a performer (or social creature) and adopt other people’s (e.g. spectators) perspectives? Which artistic tools are available to facilitate other forms of interaction, especially when the body is seen as a translator?

On the 26th of June Nathalie Fari took part at the event "Inhalt - Wer partizipiert wirklich an Open Culture?" (Content - Who really participates at Open Culture?) of the Wikimedia Stiftung with the Culture Secretary of Berlin Tim Renner, the urban researcher and artist Dr. Paula Marie Hildebrandt and the Director of the National History Museum of Berlin Prof.

Summer Lab Secret Hotel

Nathalie Fari was selected with her body mapping research project to take part of the first Summer Lab of Secret Hotel at the Mjols Berge National Park in Denmark. This Summer Lab which will happen from 20th to 30th of August is part of Secret Hotel’s several year long investigation Landscape Dialogues. The focus of the Lab will be on the intersection between participatory performing arts (and other art forms), sustainable approaches, landscapes, surroundings, territory and land.
