Michaela Muchina

Michaela Muchina, born 1982 in East-Berlin, is a stage- and costume designer and artist. She studied stage- and costume design at the Art Academy Berlin-Weißensee and visual communication at the State University for Art and Design, St. Petersburg. Since 2010 she works in different constellations either with directors, choreographers or performers. Her last last stage- and costume designs she realised e.g. at Maxim Gorki Theater/ Studio Я, Theater Konstanz, Ballhaus Naunynstrasse, Berlin; Junges Schauspielhaus Düsseldorf; Uferstudios, Berlin; Konservatorium, St. Petersburg; Theater St. Gallen. Her work operates at the interface of stage design and spatial interventions. In collaboration with the artists Nathalie Fari and Tanya Akhmetgalieva she develops works in the fields of performance art, video installation and urban intervention which where presented e.g. at the performance festival VERBO, Galeria Vermelho, São Paulo; FLAM4, Amsterdam; FESTIVAL INTERNATIONAL DE TEATRO, São José do Rio Preto; MMOMA Moscow; Triumph Gallery, Moscow; ANGST(FREI) Festival, Theater der Altmark and TKACHI Gallery, St. Petersburg.
